Build a simple Electric Generator

Generators are the devices that convert kinetic energy into electricity. The operation of the generators is based on the induction phenomenon, according to which, if a magnetic field moves close to a conductor an electric current will flow in the conductor.
Materials:
2 rubber rings
test tube
LED light
powerful magnets
copper wire
Procedure:
- Place the magnet and the cotton in the plastic tube.
- Attach the rubber rings to the plastic tube as shown in the figure and wrap the copper wire around the tube (500 rpm).
- Remove the insulation from the edges of the copper wire and connect to the LED light.
- Shake the tube and watch the led light!!
Explanation:
When the magnet inside the tube approaches and moves away from the coil, the coil is flowed by an electrical current that results in the LED to be switched on.
